Welcome to West Valley Learning Center, where our youngest learners begin their educational journey in a caring, engaging, and nurturing environment. We are proud to serve our Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten (TK) students and families and are excited to partner with you during these important early years.

At West Valley Learning Center, we believe young children learn best through meaningful relationships, purposeful play, exploration, hands-on experiences, and developmentally appropriate instruction. Our dedicated teachers and staff work together to create classrooms where every child feels welcomed, valued, supported, and excited to learn.

These character traits are woven throughout our classrooms, playgrounds, and daily routines. Children learn how to care for themselves and others, make positive choices, build friendships, solve problems, and become contributing members of their classroom community.

Supporting the Whole Child

The preschool and TK years are an exciting period of tremendous growth. Our programs support important early childhood developmental milestones across all areas of learning, including:

• Social-Emotional Development: Building relationships, expressing emotions, developing independence, taking turns, sharing, and learning to solve problems with others.
• Language and Literacy: Expanding vocabulary, engaging in conversations, listening to stories, developing early reading and writing skills, and building a love of books and language.
• Early Mathematics: Exploring numbers, counting, patterns, shapes, measurement, sorting, and problem-solving through meaningful everyday experiences.
• Physical Development: Strengthening fine-motor skills through drawing, writing, cutting, and manipulating materials while developing gross-motor skills through movement and active play.
• Cognitive Development: Developing curiosity, creativity, persistence, memory, critical thinking, and the confidence to ask questions and explore new ideas.
• Independence and Self-Help Skills: Learning classroom routines, caring for personal belongings, making choices, communicating needs, and developing age-appropriate responsibility.

We recognize that every child develops at their own pace. Our goal is to meet children where they are, celebrate their individual strengths, and provide the support and experiences they need to continue growing.

Families are a child's first and most important teachers. We value strong partnerships between home and school and encourage families to stay connected, communicate with teachers, participate in school activities, and celebrate their child's learning throughout the year.
